New York United States of America

New York, New York, New York ……

Central Park, Statue of Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge

Where do I start! I love New York!

We spent 8 nights in New York and had a mission to do as much as we possibly could in the time we had there. I must say 8 nights in New York is not enough. Here are a few snippets of our time in New York.

We walked the Brooklyn Bridge after catching a ferry from Manhattan to Brooklyn, this allowed us to tick 2 things off the list of must-do items.

Taking photos of the New York skyline from the Rockefeller Centre ensured that our photos included the Empire State Building, which is also a must-do whilst in New York.

It was too hot for the horse and carriage ride in Central Park the day we were there but it was a very beautiful place to wander around. Hard to believe that we were in such a big city!

The Statue of Liberty was a real highlight. I had booked some tickets online for the Crown, without realising this allowed us to climb up the circular staircase  inside of the Statue to the Crown. I suggest a moderate level of fitness to climb so many steps and it is  a closed-in space.  I am told that these tickets sell out so if you intend to go, book early as it is well worth it.

Another activity on the list was a Harlem Jazz evening. We booked with Apple Jazz Tours and it exceeded our expectations. There were 4 of us on the tour and our guide Amanda was fantastic. She took us to local bars and clubs that we wouldn’t have known about and by the time 1am rolled around we had definitely got our moneys worth.

The Broadway show, the Iroquois Hotel and the people were all amazing. I can’t wait to go back to New York.
