Danang and Hoi An

I had heard so much about Vietnam and recently had some friends come back from Hoi An who had really loved it.

I can see why.

The people are just beautiful. Whilst a few spoke english very well, many did not but that didn’t stop them communicating and being so helpful. They really wanted us to have a great time.

We stayed at the Pullman Danang Beach Resort which was extremely good. The pool, spa and restuarants were all very good. Did I forget to say how lovely the staff were! It was my husbands birthday while we were there, and the managment bought a small cake and a couple of drinks to celebrate.

We spent some time in historic Hoi An where we walked around the beautiful trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. We had some suits made by BEBE tailors which provided excellent service and value.

We also went to the Gioan Cookery class. I didn’t see any advertising while we were there but I had been referred by a friend that had already been. It was fantastic !

I have tried to make the food that we did that day back here in NZ but its not the same! Highly recommend this cookery class. It was so much fun and the food amazing.

We also made a day trip to My Son Sanctuary and also the Cham Islands to do some snorkling. Whilst the trip to Cham Islands was a little rugged at times, it was an enjoyable experience.

The best restaurant find in Danang was Madame Lan where the food was amazing and cost about NZ$18 for more than enough food. The locals dine there and it was recommended by the concierge. Well worth trying.

Overall I loved Danang and Hoi An and cant wait to go back to explore more of Vietnam.
